Edgar Davids: 'Mario Balotelli can only help himself'

Former AC Milan midfielder Edgar Davids believes that Mario Balotelli is the only one who can save Mario Balotelli.

Former AC Milan star Edgar Davids believes that the only person that can save Mario Balotelli is the Italian international himself.

The 25-year-old has had mixed spells with Inter Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool but having returned to the Rossoneri on loan during the summer, Davids feels that it will be down to him to rediscover his form.

The former Netherlands international told Gazzetta dello Sport: "The only person who can help Balotelli is Balotelli. When you change team and you have the right mindset and a coach who respects you, everything becomes easier.

"In the end, though, everything will depend only on him. I have seen players with half his talent become key for great teams: the mentality is what counts."

Balotelli could make his second Milan debut next weekend against his former side Inter.
