Under-fire Massimiliano Allegri understands "bitterness"

Massimiliano Allegri says that he is determined to turn things around at AC Milan.

Massimiliano Allegri has said that AC Milan must pick themselves up for Tuesday's crucial Champions League fixture at Celtic following last night's disappointing 1-1 draw with Genoa.

The Rossoneri have not won in five Serie A games, leaving themselves 11th after 13 games and with teams able to overtake them this afternoon.

Allegri is coming under increasing pressure at the San Siro, and he can understand the fans' frustrations.

"It's only natural there is bitterness that we are without a win in a month," Football Italia quotes the 46-year-old as saying. "It is strange to see the table, but if we are there then it means we haven't done enough.

"We all have the determination to improve and climb the standings. We must lick our wounds and prepare for a very difficult game against Celtic.

"I am eager to bring the team back to a good position in Serie A, continue in the Champions League and also the Coppa Italia. In my three years at Milan we always did well, but things aren't going our way this season."

Milan are second in the Champions League group, one point ahead of Ajax and five behind leaders Barcelona.
