Johnny Heitinga returns to Ajax

Former Everton and Fulham defender Johnny Heitinga returns to his first club Ajax on a 12-month contract.

Johnny Heitinga has signed a one-year contract with his boyhood club Ajax.

The 31-year-old rose through the ranks at the Amsterdam club, for whom he made over 200 senior appearances in a seven-year period.

He left for Atletico Madrid in 2008, before going on to have spells with Everton, Fulham and Hertha Berlin.

However, having negotiated his exit from the German club, the defender has now secured a return to Ajax.

During his previous stint with De Godenzonen, Heitinga won the Eredivisie twice and the Dutch Cup three times.ID:230282: cacheID:230282:1false2false3false:QQ:: from db desktop :LenBod:restore:1512:
