Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has slammed his team's second-half performance against Anderlecht after they let slip a 3-0 lead against the Belgian outfit.
Arteta had set the Gunners on the way to a 3-0 advantage but three goals in the final half-hour earned Anderlecht a share of the spoils to deny the North London side the chance to wrap up qualification with two matches remaining.
The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "The main aim when you start the competition is to win the group, so we threw everything away today. We still have another two chances, but you can't miss a chance in the Champions League as every team has qualities and you saw what happened today.
"We cannot afford to make the mistakes and concede three goals after going 3-0 up. It's not good enough. We're very disappointed and we missed a great opportunity to finish the job properly.
"We know what we're playing for and it was a massive day for us today. What happened in the second half is not the level required at this club."
Two points from their remaining fixtures will be enough to see Arsenal progress through to the last 16.
