Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey: 'Marseille win vital'

Aaron Ramsey admits to a "difficult night" at the Stade Velodrome, but believes that Arsenal's 2-1 victory over Marseille will prove to be vital.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes that his side's 2-1 win away at Marseille is vital.

Ramsey scored Arsenal's second goal after Theo Walcott had put the Gunners ahead in France in their Champions League clash.

Marseille grabbed a goal back in injury time, and the Wales midfielder admits that it was a tough evening for his team.

"It was a difficult night," Ramsey told Sky Sports. "The pitch wasn't too good, so we couldn't quite get the rhythm in our passing going.

"In the end I think we deserved it. We tried to keep doing the things we meant to do and we got the result. We came here a couple of seasons ago and won. I'm sure this will be vital again.

The result means that Arsenal have now won their last 10 away games in all competitions.
