Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has the personality to play in both the Premier Legaue and on the international stage already.
The 18-year-old arrived at the Emirates from Southampton this summer and scored in each of his first two starts for the London club. Meanwhile, his name has also been in discussion for a spot in England coach Fabio Capello's Euro 2012 squad.
"I would like to see [him go to Euro 2012] but let's go step by step," the Frenchman said.
"I think in England you always take the fast track. To go to the European Championships you need experience in the Premier League so it is important he gets that first.
"He has quality when he plays in games - he is not fazed by the importance of them. He's the kind of personality that makes you think he can play on the big stage. I don't think it is too early for him anymore."
Arsenal travel to the DW Stadium to take on second-from-bottom Wigan this weekend.
