How Arsenal could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for their Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Boxing Day.

Arsenal could temporarily climb into the top four of the Premier League table with victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Boxing Day.

Arsenal battled to a 3-1 triumph over Burnley on Saturday to take them level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea, who then suffered a shock home defeat to Leicester City later in the day.

Chelsea once again play after Arsenal on Wednesday, which means that a victory for the Gunners would leave them in the Champions League spots for a few hours at least.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Unai Emery could set his side out for this match.

Possible ARS XI vs. BHA

Out: Hector Bellerin (calf), Rob Holding (knee), Emile Smith Rowe (hip), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (ankle), Danny Welbeck (ankle)
Doubtful: Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring), Nacho Monreal (muscle)

Emery would ideally like to rest players ahead of this weekend's trip to Liverpool, although a seemingly perennially packed treatment room could put paid to those hopes.

Nacho Monreal is the latest to have joined the injury list after limping off against Burnley last weekend, and with four other defenders either sidelined or doubtful, Emery is short of options at the back.

Laurent Koscielny is expected to come back into the side along with the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Alex Iwobi.

Mesut Ozil returned against Burnley and reacted to his recent omission with a fine performance, which should see him keep his spot for this match.

Premier League top-scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to start alongside Alexandre Lacazette once more, although the former's importance to the side could make him a candidate to be rested ahead of Liverpool.
