Arsenal are handed a fresh injury concern as Takehiro Tomiyasu misses Saturday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers due to a knock.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was dealt a fresh injury blow for Saturday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers, as one of his key defenders missed out on a place in the squad through injury.

The Spaniard made three changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, one of which saw Jakub Kiwior replace Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back.

Tomiyasu had performed well at the Allianz Arena, but he failed to complete the full 90, and Arsenal revealed that he picked up a knock after he was omitted from the squad for the trip to Molineux.

Arsenal describe Tomiyasu absence as "precautionary"

The Gunners stated that the full-back's absence was only a precautionary one, though, and Arteta also offered a brief update in his pre-match interview with Sky Sports News.

"He [Tomiyasu] had a knock in the game and he had a bit of swelling and he wasn't fit to play this game," Arteta said. "For the rest I have picked a very strong side. We have made some changes because we need some freshness because of the type of game we expect."

Tomiyasu, whose career has been blighted by injuries, has made 78 appearances for Arsenal, who will rise back to the top of the table above Manchester City with victory at Molineux.
