Arsene Wenger: 'Mesut Ozil should be fit for Chelsea match'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects Mesut Ozil to be fit in time for the upcoming clash with Chelsea after he missed the goalless draw with Stoke City through injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he expects Mesut Ozil to be fit to face Chelsea in their Premier League London derby next weekend.

The German playmaker was a surprise omission from the Gunners' starting lineup for this afternoon's goalless draw with Stoke City due to a foot injury and illness.

However, Wenger insists that it is not a serious problem and hinted that Ozil will be included for Sunday's showdown at the Emirates.

"Yesterday morning he was not very well. He already was not 100% at Liverpool so I decided to leave him out. I think he should be back for next Sunday," he told reporters.

Ozil has registered 16 assists already this season, putting him just four short of the all-time single-season Premier League record held by Thierry Henry.
