Emmanuel Adebayor "struggling" to make Arsenal match

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood reveals that ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is one of three players "struggling" to be fit for the North London derby.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has revealed that ex-Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is among three injury doubts for the North London derby.

The Togolese forward, who has scored 11 goals in 17 games since being recalled to the team by Sherwood, is nursing knee and ankle knocks picked up in the Europa League last-16 first-leg defeat at home to Benfica.

Kyle Walker was substituted in the same match as he continues to battle a groin problem, while Moussa Dembele is also facing a race against time to be fit for the visit of Arsenal on Sunday.

"Mousa Dembele, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kyle Walker are all struggling," Sherwood told the club's official website.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, who has been in and out of the side recently with a succession of injuries, should be included in the squad, but Erik Lamela, Vlad Chiriches and Michael Dawson are definitely out.

Adebayor made 142 appearances for Arsenal before leaving for Manchester City in 2009.
