Arsene Wenger: 'The goals will come'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that the 'goals will come' after witnessing his side record a 2-0 win over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he was impressed with his side's display in the 2-0 victory over Stoke City.

Goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud earned the Gunners a convincing win, with Stoke only remaining in the match until the 85th minute thanks to an outstanding performance from Potters goalkeeper Jack Butland.

However, despite only seeing his team find the back of the net on two occasions, Wenger is optimistic that they will improve their strike rate in the coming weeks.

The Frenchman is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We had to wait to make sure of our victory but I thought our performance was convincing. In the first half our movement was outstanding and we created a lot.

"In the second half our pace dropped maybe a little bit in our passing but we continuously created chances and overall it was a strong performance.

"My only regret is that there is too big a difference between the number of chances we made and the number of goals we scored but that will come."

The win at the Emirates Stadium has moved Arsenal into second spot in the Premier League table.
