Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to make the Emirates a fortress in order for them to start climbing the Premier League table.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta believes that his side must keep winning at home if they are to climb up the league table.

The Gunners currently prop up the top-half of the Premier League after a disappointing start to the season.

However, having now recorded consecutive home wins after their 2-1 victory over Sunderland yesterday, the Spaniard believes their home form holds the key to improving their current standing in the table.

"If you are very consistent you get the results," Arteta told the club's official website.

"We just have to keep doing what we are doing at home, winning every game and I am sure that is going to see us climb up the table quickly."

Arsene Wenger's side have won all but one of their games at the Emirates this campaign but have yet to pick up a victory on their travels.
