Lille midfielder Renato Sanches is a leading transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly planning a move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.

The 24-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from his Ligue 1 club during the summer transfer window, but the deadline passed with the Portugal international still in France.

Sanches only has 18 months left to run on his current deal and is widely expected to move on this year, with Arsenal thought to be at the head of the queue for his signature.

However, according to ELEVEN, there is also serious interest from Barcelona, who have identified the Portuguese as a 'priority signing'.

The Catalan club's head coach Xavi is said to be determined to improve his midfield options for the 2022-23 campaign, with Sanches being identified as the ideal acquisition due to his availability.

The former Benfica youngster has scored six times and registered six assists in 76 appearances for Lille since joining the Ligue 1 outfit from Bayern Munich in 2019.
