Santi Cazorla: 'Arsenal can win trophies'

Santi Cazorla says that Arsenal can win trophies next season, having improved their mentality towards the end of last term.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla is positive that his side can win some silverware during the upcoming season.

The Gunners have not won a trophy since lifting the FA Cup in 2005, but are rumoured to have in excess of £70m to spend during the summer transfer window.

Having been named as the club's Player of the Year in his debut campaign for the North London outfit, Cazorla is now hoping to obtain some honours with Arsenal.

"Every team in the league has a complicated period at some point and their level drops," Cazorla told ESPN. "When the team doesn't win and we don't get the results we want, the collective confidence does drop a little and that's natural.

"Now, we've put in a spectacular run-in and you can see the difference in mentality.

"We have great players. I'm sure next season we'll be a better team and we'll improve. There are young players. It's clear this squad has plenty of potential to improve. Next season, we hope we can be even better and win trophies and the supporters can enjoy it. That's what Arsenal really wants. I hope I can keep developing too."

Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini this summer.
