Lyon, Villarreal and Wolfsburg join Arsenal in Emirates Cup

Arsenal will contest the Emirates Cup against Lyon, Villarreal and Wolfsburg next season.

Arsenal will face Lyon, Villarreal and Wolfsburg in the Emirates Cup in July, it has been confirmed.

The annual two-day pre-season event will take place on July 25 and 26 at the Emirates Stadium, as teams gear up for the new campaign.

Arsenal will play Lyon on the opening day of the tournament, before facing Wolfsburg 24 hours later.

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis told Arsenal's official website: "We are delighted to be able to confirm three leading European club teams for this year's Emirates Cup. Lyon, Villarreal and Wolfsburg have some fantastic players and will all contribute to an entertaining weekend of football for our supporters."

Valencia won the trophy last year.
