Steven Gerrard: 'Aaron Ramsey the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League'

Arsenal and Wales star Aaron Ramsey is the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League when in form, according to Liverpool and England legend Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard has claimed that Arsenal and Wales star Aaron Ramsey is the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League when in form.

Ramsey has been in impressive form in recent matches, scoring once and assisting Olivier Giroud twice in games against Sunderland and Olympiacos since moving back into his preferred central position from the right wing.

Premier League legend Gerrard believes that the former Cardiff City player has become the best forward-thinking midfielder in Britain's top flight.

"I don't think he'll be happy himself playing out wide because he hasn't got the legs - his qualities are all in the middle," Gerrard said on BT Sport. "For me, when he's in that form, he's the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League.

"You should play your best players where they want to be and I'm sure that'd be in the middle."

Ramsey has made 242 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists since joining the North London club in 2008.
