Thierry Henry: 'It's not the end for Arsenal, they're still in the mix'

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes that Arsenal are "still in the mix" following their heavy 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has backed his former club to end the season successfully following a blip in their campaign.

The Gunners suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield a fortnight ago, but responded by beating the Reds in the FA Cup fifth round the following weekend.

The Gunners suffered a blow this week when they fell to a 2-0 deficit at the hands of Bayern Munich in the first leg of their round-of-16 Champions League tie at the Emirates.

However, Henry believes that the North London outfit, who are just one point behind leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table, still have plenty to play for.

In an interview with ESPNFC, Henry said: "This last loss against Liverpool, everybody was [acting] like it's the end. It's not the end. They're still there. They're still in the mix.

"I love Arsenal, but let's all be honest - I don't think a lot of people thought that they were going to compete for the title, to still be in the Champions League, still in the FA Cup and playing well."

The Gunners will take on Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday.
