Report: Leonardo Jardim earmarked by Arsenal as Arsene Wenger successor

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim is believed to be on Arsenal's radar should Arsene Wenger leave the manager's post in the summer.

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has reportedly emerged as a target for the Arsenal manager's post should Arsene Wenger leave in the summer.

Wenger's future at the Emirates Stadium has once again been called into question following Sunday's 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City in the EFL Cup final.

Jardim, meanwhile, is believed to be seeking a new challenge after four seasons at Monaco, which have yielded a Ligue 1 title and a run to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

According to The Independent, the Portuguese coach was on Arsenal's radar last term until Wenger penned a new deal at the North London club.

The report goes on to claim that, with the Gunners eager to review their managerial situation at the end of a disappointing season, Jardim's name has emerged as a candidate again.

Arsenal currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, while Monaco are second in the French top flight.
