Jose Mourinho: 'Arsenal always moan'

Jose Mourinho insists that there was no controversy in their 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho has insisted that there was no controversy in their 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday, after the Gunners were reduced to nine men.

The Chelsea boss also labelled the North London side 'moaners' after Gabriel Paulista was given a straight red for a confrontation with Diego Costa, with the Spaniard walking away unpunished for his antics.

Arsene Wenger's were to down to nine late on after seeing Santi Cazorla receive a second yellow for a late challenge with Cesc Fabregas, but Mourinho says that he saw nothing wrong in their victory.

"Where is the controversy? For me, no controversy. The game is about many different aspects, technical, tactical, emotional, physical. Normally the best team wins - we were the best team," Mourinho said, according to Goal.com.

"We were dominant, we were controlled. Obviously let's not be hypocritical and deny but playing with one man more is easier.

"I think I played against Arsenal 15, 16 times and only once they didn't moan. Maybe it was because they won that game. All the other matches, they have reasons for that. I played my first derby in September 2000 - to win a derby, emotional control. I've played derbies in Spain, Portugal, England, Italy and I always say the same words. You always need emotional control."

The win over Arsenal means that Mourinho has avoided losing three games in a row for the first time in his managerial career, as Chelsea move up the table and are now three points behind the Gunners, who are fourth.
