Lukas Podolski still baffled over Arsenal exile

Lukas Podolski takes another swipe at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after seemingly falling out of favour under the Frenchman this season.

Lukas Podolski has revealed that he is still in the dark over why he fell out of favour under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

The German joined Inter Milan on loan until the end of the season after struggling for first-team opportunities under the Frenchman this season.

Podolski, who arrived at San Siro last Monday, has already started more league games for Inter than he had done for the Gunners this term, and previously hit out at Wenger over a lack of respect - claims that the 65-year-old denied.

"I never had a problem with Wenger... much has been hyped up. And the only thing I have criticised was that he did not wish me good luck in Milan," the 29-year-old told Bild.

"Why this was so, he alone knows. After the World Cup in summer he still said how important I was for him. When I played, I performed. Statistics do not lie.

"The responsibility for preparation is the sole responsibility of the coach. So he must know why I barely got a chance. Then I had to find a solution, and it was Inter. The club is still one of the top ten in the world."

Podolski, who started two games in all competitions for Arsenal this season, struck 20 Premier League goals in total since a £12m move from Koln in 2012.
