Robin van Persie has insisted that he would not accept a fourth-place finish for Arsenal this season.
Today's 1-0 win over Manchester City lifted the Gunners to third in the Premier League table, two points ahead of rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
With just six matches remaining, Van Persie believes that Arsenal are in the driving seat for third spot.
"If you offered me fourth spot now, I would say no, quite clearly because we are now in a big battle for third place and I believe that we can actually get it," the Dutch international told Sky Sports News. "It's just one goal difference with Spurs at the moment, so it's a very nice battle but I am quite confident that we can actually finish in third.
"To become third is like our own little race because we have quite a few little races going on.
"You have a big race to become champion - first and second, then you have three, four and five."
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening.
