Thomas Vermaelen: We must all score goals

Thomas Vermaelen claims that it is important for the whole Arsenal squad to score goals and not rely on Robin van Persie.

Thomas Vermaelen has emphasised the importance of the Arsenal team supporting Robin van Persie by scoring more goals.

The Belgian defender scored the winner during the 1-0 victory over Everton on Wednesday and he believes that the club should not rely on van Perise.

Vermaelen told Sky Sports News: "It doesn't matter who scores, of course.

"I think it's good for the team that other players score as well.

"I'm happy for myself to have scored the winner twice. But I'm pleased with the mentality that the team has shown in the last few weeks and that's even more important I think. That's why we win these games."

Arsenal are third in the Premier League following the result at Goodison Park.
