Theo Walcott surprised by Leicester City quality

Arsenal's Theo Walcott admits that he was surprised by Leicester City's quality as the Gunners recorded a 2-1 win over the rock-bottom Foxes on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has talked up the performance of rock-bottom Leicester City after the Gunners recorded a narrow 2-1 win on Tuesday evening.

The Foxes are currently propping up the table having taken 17 points from 25 games, but Walcott admitted that the visitors' display was better than he was expecting.

He told Arsenal Player: "They were probably one of the best teams to come to the Emirates this season and they performed very positively. They counter-attacked very strongly and very quickly and to be honest we were holding on.

"Our first goal came from a corner and it might not have been quite deserved because Leicester played well in patches in the first half. But we managed to take our chances when given the opportunity."

The Gunners host Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Saturday.
