Arsene Wenger admits that he is 'tempted' to rest Robin van Persie against Blackburn.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed reports that he is considering resting Robin van Persie against Blackburn this weekend.

The Frenchman, who was said to be concerned with Van Persie's number of starts in recent weeks, admitted that he is tempted to rotate up front ahead of Arsenal's showdown with Steve Kean's Rovers this afternoon.

"I will rotate a little bit because many players have given a lot," he said. "[With Van Persie] the temptation is there.

"We are in a situation at the moment where he is the main goalscorer, so I will maybe have to build a team that works around him.

"Chamakh is back. He should be in today because they have 48 hours to be back after the competition, but I will not use him tomorrow."

Van Persie has started 11 of Arsenal's last 12 games and grabbed seven goals in that time.
