Arsene Wenger: 'Forwards the best since Thierry Henry was at the club'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels that his side's forward players are the best he has had at his disposal since the days of Thierry Henry.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has expressed his belief that his current crop of attacking players are the best he has had since Thierry Henry played for the club.

The Gunners boast Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott among their forward line and have also received contributions in the final third from Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil this season.

Wenger feels that his side are starting to find their rhythm in their forward play, and has insisted that they will only improve as the attacking unit spends more time playing together.

He told reporters: "A prolific Premier League attack should score between 70 to 100 goals in a season. We are not there yet, but this attack is our best since Thierry Henry's days - this one has the most potential since then.

"This weekend is the first time we have been able to line them up all together, so we are yet to see what they are capable of achieving.

"Giroud's style is less elegant than strikers before him like Robin van Persie, but he has progressed a lot and he is now a complete striker because he has added decisive passes to his game. He works for the team more than most players who contribute that many goals."

Arsenal play Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park later today.
