Arsene Wenger is pleased with Arsenal's performance in defence and attack against West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his delight at keeping a clean sheet and taking three points against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners won 2-0 courtesy of two Mikel Arteta penalties, leaving Wenger happy with the amount of chances created overall.

"Overall, we played well, created chances and kept a clean sheet," BBC Sport quotes Wenger as saying. "There was no room for dropping any points and I feel it is a positive day. We were a bit nervous when we had chances because our backs were to the wall.

Midfielder Santi Cazorla has received criticism for his part in winning the opening goal and Wenger admitted that they were fortunate to be awarded it.

"[We were] a little bit [fortunate] yes. I spoke to Cazorla and he said [Steven Reid] tapped him."

Arsenal moved up to sixth with the three points.
