Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere responds well to treatment on an ankle problem and is ready for a return to full training, according to a report.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly ready to resume full training and dispel rumours of a long-term absence.

Wilshere has missed Arsenal's last two games with an ankle injury, leading to fears among Gunners fans that their midfield talisman would miss the rest of this season.

According to The Mirror, the England international has responded well to extensive treatment and will return to first-team training at London Colney this week.

Although next weekend's clash with Reading will come too soon, an early April return against either West Bromwich Albion or Norwich City looks more likely.

Manager Arsene Wenger needs the 21-year-old back for selection as the fight for Champions League qualification hots up.

The Gunners currently sit fifth in the Premier League, four points behind rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
