Agent: 'Mauro Icardi wants to stay at Inter'

The agent and wife of Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi insists that he wants to stay at the club, but reveals that there are other options.

The agent and wife of Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has insisted that the player wants to stay at the club.

The 23-year-old's contract talks with the Serie A side appear to have stalled recently, leading Wanda Nara to claim that her client was up for sale due to economic reasons.

Nara is expecting the situation to develop in the coming days, but admitted that the ideal scenario would be Icardi staying at San Siro.

"We're working to adapt Mauro's contract, but we still have to wait. It won't take long to get to the point, I think in seven to 10 days the picture will be clearer. For our part we'd like to continue the work which was begun a year ago and was then interrupted," she told FCInterNews.

"Right now our intention isn't to renew the contract, we just want to see him on the right financial level. Yes, the teams (Napoli and Juventus) that would like him are those that you all know at this point.

"Whether or not he'll stay is a question for Mauro, I want him to stay because we're happy in Milan but you'd have to ask him that question. He wants to stay, because he loves these colours."

The likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are thought to be leading the race for Icardi's signature.
