Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has rejected an approach from Newcastle United, according to a report.
The Magpies are looking to bolster their squad this month as they prepare for the second half of the season, and a relegation fight to survive in the Premier League.
The club have already secured the signings of Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood in the window, but Eddie Howe is hoping to bring further players in a variety of positions.
According to TUTTOmercato, Arsenal's Lacazette will not be someone who joins the club in January, as he has rejected Newcastle's approach.
A proposal had been made to him that would have guaranteed £6.6m per season for three years, but the Frenchman is not interested due to the risk of relegation.
However, the 30-year-old has entered the final six months of his Arsenal contract, and will become a free agent if he does not agree on a new deal with the Gunners.
