Arsenal 'agree to loan Ainsley Maitland-Niles to West Bromwich Albion'

A report claims that Ainsley Maitland-Niles is to undergo a medical ahead of joining West Bromwich Albion on loan from Arsenal.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with West Bromwich Albion over a loan deal for Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to a report.

The versatile midfielder is believed to have asked for a move away from the Emirates Stadium for the rest of the season after struggling for minutes.

Academy product Maitland-Niles has started just five of the Gunners' 21 Premier League games this season and has appeared a further six times from the bench.

A number of teams showed an interest in signing the England international, with Leicester City, Newcastle United and Southampton all rumoured to have contacted Arsenal.

Sky Sports News claims that West Brom have won the race for 23-year-old, however, with an official announcement expected to be made ahead of Monday's 11pm deadline.

Maitland-Niles, who has previously spent time on loan with Ipswich Town, will first undergo a medical in London.
