Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.
The 31-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the Saints since arriving from Chelsea in 2015, including 18 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
The full-back's current deal is due to expire at the end of June, though, and it is understood that the two parties are struggling to come to an agreement over an extension.
According to Goal, Southampton are unwilling to break their wage structure to keep Bertrand, which has alerted the attention of Arsenal, who have already made contact with the Englishman's representatives.
The report claims that Ralph Hasenhuttl's side could be prepared to sell the former Chelsea youngster this month rather than risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta claimed on Friday that his club could be in the market for a new left-back to provide competition for Kieran Tierney following Sead Kolasinac's exit.
