Arsenal, Liverpool target Luiz Adriano to leave Shakhtar Donetsk

In-demand Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano confirms that he will leave Shakhtar Donetsk in the winter.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano has confirmed that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the year.

Adriano, who has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, scored nine goals in seven Champions League matches this season and will be available on a free transfer in December.

He told reporters: "My plan is to respect the contract, which has not been renewed and will expire in December 2015. I am in a good moment of my career and we'll do what will be best for me and for the club.

"With my contract set to expire and many good performances, it'll be difficult to stay in Ukraine."

Adriano is the club's all-time top goalscorer.
