Team News: Philipp Lahm only on Bayern Munich bench

Phillip Lahm is named in a Bayern Munich squad for the first time since November as they face Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Philipp Lahm is back in the Bayern Munich squad for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Shakhtar Donetsk, but only as a substitute.

The Bayern captain has not played since November because of a broken ankle and had hoped to make his return as a starter at the Allianz Arena this evening.

Robert Lewandowski is recalled to play up front in an attacking Munich side which is missing the suspended Xabi Alonso, sent off in the 0-0 first-leg draw a fortnight ago.

Bastian Schweinsteiger will be the sole man protecting a defence which sees Dante and Juan Bernat drop out from the 3-1 victory over Hannover on Saturday.

Shakhtar make just one change from their first-leg lineup as Fernando replaces Taras Stepanenko in midfield.

Tournament top scorer Luiz Adriano will lead the line for the Ukrainians, but his Brazilian counterpart Bernard is unavailable.

Bayern: Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Schweinsteiger, Gotze; Ribery, Muller, Robben; Lewandowski

Shakhtar: Pyatov, Srna, Kucher, Rakitskiy, Shevchuk, Fred, Stepanenko, Costa, Teixeira, Taison, Adriano
