Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas ends speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal by agreeing a one-year extension to his contract at the Bernabeu.

Rumoured Arsenal target Keylor Navas has ended speculation over his immediate future by agreeing a one-year extension to his Real Madrid contract.

Recent reports suggested that the Gunners had made a £14m bid for the goalkeeper, although manager Unai Emery was quick to deny any interest in signing Navas.

The Costa Rica international has fallen down the pecking order at Madrid since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last summer and was thought to be open to the idea of moving in search of more regular first-team football.

However, Marca reports that talks over a new deal have been ongoing since the summer, while Navas put pen to paper on the contract a few weeks ago.

The 32-year-old's previous deal was due to expire in 2020, meaning that the new terms will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2021.

Navas is reportedly set to earn €5m (£4.5m) net per season as part of the renewed contract.
