Arsenal are reportedly in line for a cash windfall following Liverpool's Premier League title success, which they intend to use in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Gunners are said to be owed around £3m by their domestic rivals as part of a bonus included in the deal that saw Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain swap clubs in 2017.
Mikel Arteta is working with a limited transfer budget this summer and, according to the Daily Mail, the seven-figure payout will help fund Arsenal's move for Thomas.
Atletico are believed to be holding out for the Ghana international's full £45m buyout clause, with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also said to be interested.
The same report indicates that Arsenal may instead use the payment from Liverpool to help them sign Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who is available for a smaller sum.
