Arsenal are reportedly trying to terminate Kim Kallstrom's loan from Spartak Moscow after learning of his back injury.
The experienced Swedish international joined the Gunners on transfer deadline day as cover for the sidelined Aaron Ramsey and the suspended Mathieu Flamini.
However, it has emerged that he has an underlying back problem, picked up while playing beach football during Spartak's mid-season break.
According to The Sun, Arsenal have already explored the option of sending Kallstrom back to Russia so that they are not saddled with his wages during his expected six-week layoff.
Kallstrom has been capped 108 times by Sweden's national team, scoring 16 goals in the process.
