Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has reportedly rejected the opportunity to join French outfit Rennes on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old arrived at the Emirates for £30m from Saint-Etienne in 2019, but was immediately returned to the club on loan, and has since been sent to Nice on a short-term deal also.
Saliba is still waiting to make his first-team debut for Mikel Arteta's side, and with the Gunners showing interest in Brighton & Hove Albion's Ben White, the Frenchman's future in North London is in doubt.
According to football.london, Saliba was not impressed by the way Rennes chased his signature last summer only to pull the plug on their interest in the latter stages of the window.
By rejecting this offer to go out on loan again, the report suggests that Saliba is ready to fight for his place in Arteta's side, and the manager has said that the youngster will have the opportunity to prove his ability this pre-season.
Saliba joined Nice in January and managed 22 appearances while on loan with the Ligue 1 club.
