Daniel Sturridge could leave Chelsea in January if the club's valuation of around £15m is met after failing to impress Roberto Di Matteo, according to reports.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to let unsettled striker Daniel Sturridge leave in January.

Sturridge has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge under Roberto Di Matteo and is yet to start a Premier League game this season.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will accept an offer in the region of £15m for the forward, news that has reportedly alerted Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has endured a difficult summer after battling meningitis and suffering a hamstring injury on his return from Olympic duty.

Chelsea are blessed with attacking options after signing Eden Hazard and Victor Moses during the close season but decided to keep Sturridge as cover for lone striker Fernando Torres.

Sturridge is thought to be desperate to secure first-team football in order to earn a place in Roy Hodgson's England squad on a regular basis.

The former Manchester City youth product is likely to be fit enough to return to the Chelsea squad for this weekend's London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
