Manchester City are on the verge of signing Arsenal's Samir Nasri for a reported £25m.
The long-running transfer saga could be completed on Thursday as Arsenal brace themselves for the loss of another midfielder following the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona on Monday.
Nasri is in the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates and turned down a new three-year deal worth £90,000 per week recently.
The Frenchman reacted angrily to Arsenal fans' chants about him during Arsenal's 0-0 draw with Newcastle on Saturday.
"I heard what the fans were singing about me on Saturday and it is really disrespectful because I'm still a [sic] Arsenal player," Nasri commented via his Twitter account.
The 24-year-old was rumoured to have undergone a medical with Manchester City on Wednesday, although those reports appear to have been premature.
Nasri joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2008 and he has gone on to score 27 goals in 124 appearances for the Gunners.
