Arsenal scout Brian McDermott has claimed that manager Arsene Wenger will not buy any players in the January transfer window unless he deems it "absolutely necessary".
The Gunners added just one new player to the team during the summer - goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea for a reported £11m fee.
Despite the club's current injury list, which includes Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, McDermott believes that no signings will be made in January.
"The manager won't spend unless he thinks it's absolutely necessary," McDermott told Sky Sports News.
"The scouting structure at Arsenal is phenomenal. We all know who the top strikers in the world are. Can you get them to come? They won't be available in January that's an absolute certainty."
The North London outfit are currently second in the Premier League table.
