Newcastle United are reportedly preparing a move for unsettled Arsenal forward Lucas Perez.
Perez earned a move to London last August after finding the back of the net on 17 occasions for Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna during the 2015-16 La Liga campaign.
The Spaniard struggled to make his mark in England, however, and only started two Premier League matches for Arsenal last term, which has led to suggestions of discontent.
Deportivo have made an offer to re-sign the 28-year-old this summer, but according to The Sun, Newcastle want to keep the Spaniard in England, and will offer him the chance to be the club's number one striker next season.
Perez, who scored eight times for Arsenal last season despite his lack of football, revealed last week that he is desperate to leave the Emirates Stadium in this summer's transfer window.
