Report: Burnley to swoop for Nicklas Bendtner

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is reportedly keen on signing free agent Nicklas Bendtner this summer.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is reportedly poised to swoop for free agent Nicklas Bendtner this summer.

The former Arsenal striker was released by the Gunners earlier this week and, according to The Mirror, the newly-promoted Premier League side are keen on the Denmark international.

Dyche could face stiff competition for the 26-year-old, however, amid speculation that Rubin Kazan and fellow top-flight rivals Crystal Palace are also vying for his signature.

The report goes on to claim that Bendtner, who scored two Premier League goals in nine games last season, is not sold on the idea of life at Turf Moor and will bide his time in hope that a bigger move comes along.
