Report: Gabriel Paulista remains locked in Arsenal talks

Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista remains a £10m target for Arsenal, despite manager Marcelino claiming that the Brazilian wants to remain at the Estadio El Madrigal.

Arsenal are reportedly still holding talks with Villarreal defender Gabriel Paulista over a potential move to North London this month.

The 24-year-old has been linked with both the Gunners and Premier League rivals Manchester United in the past, although he hinted earlier this week that the Emirates Stadium was his preferred destination.

It is claimed by the Daily Mail that £10m-rated Paulista remains a target for the Gunners with discussions currently being held, despite Villarreal manager Marcelino suggesting that the Brazilian wants to stay in Spain.

Arsenal will have to act quickly if they are to land the centre-back, however, with a change in work permit regulations meaning that a summer move is unlikely to be given the green light to go through.
