Morgan Schneiderlin denies Arsenal contact, but admits "clubs are interested"

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin denies that he has been in contact with Arsenal, but admits that several clubs are "interested" in him.

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin's future is expected to be a talking point in the summer after the Frenchman admitted that clubs are "interested" in signing him.

The 25-year-old is believed to have considered leaving St Mary's at the end of last season, with Arsenal thought to be a potential destination, but the midfielder has insisted that he has not been in contact with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

"I haven't had contact with Wenger," Schneiderlin told Canal+. "Clubs are interested in me but I've not given my word to anyone."

When asked if Yohan Cabaye's struggles at Paris Saint-Germain would put him off a big move, Schneiderlin said: "No, because I want to play at the highest level, Cabaye is an excellent player who joined PSG to win titles."

Schneiderlin has been a Saints player since 2008 following his move from Strasbourg.
