Thomas Tuchel rules out selling Matthias Ginter to Arsenal

Thomas Tuchel insists that Matthias Ginter will remain a Borussia Dortmund player, despite reported interest from elsewhere.

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has declared that Arsenal-linked defender Matthias Ginter will not be leaving the club this summer.

The Gunners have been tipped with making a bid for the Germany international due to his versatility across the backline.

Rumours of a move intensified when Ginter was omitted from Dortmund's squad for the pre-season tour of the Far East, which the Bundesliga outfit put down to an infection picked up earlier this week.

Tuchel has categorically ruled out selling the 22-year-old, however, telling reporters: "With Ginter, I think everything is said. German clubs wanted to sign him and now English clubs want to sign him.

"I don't know if everything is true or it is just rumours but we made our point clear - Matthias is our player and stays our player."

Ginter, who joined Dortmund from Freiburg in 2014, made 38 appearances under Tuchel in all competitions last season.
