Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel makes dig at departing players

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel makes a subtle dig at summer exits Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has launched a subtle dig at his departing players by insisting that the club only want to sign those who will "give their heart and soul" for the club.

The Bundesliga outfit have lost Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Manchester United respectively this summer.

Mkhitaryan was the most recent departure as he sealed a £26.3m switch to Old Trafford last week.

"Three extremely important players have departed - that is more than normal and it feels like a new beginning," The Mirror quotes Tuchel as saying.

"It is a risk, but all the newcomers will be totally committed. We have made a decision to sign players who will give their heart and soul for Borussia Dortmund. We will not complain, just develop with joy a new team."

Tuchel has been in charge of the club since last summer when he replaced now-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
