Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is on the verge of completing a loan move to Roma.
The 25-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium after falling behind new signing Petr Cech and David Ospina in the pecking order.
Wenger has stated that the Polish international will not take part in the forthcoming Emirates Cup in preparation for his switch to the Serie A outfit.
"Szczesny will not be involved because he might move to Roma," Wenger told London 24. "He could go. We are pretty much done, it's down to paperwork.
"Szczesny is a top-class goalkeeper and we have three who are all top. For one of the keepers, if he can play somewhere it is good."
Arsenal face Lyon in their opening Emirates Cup clash on Saturday.
