Anthony Martial extends Monaco deal

Anthony Martial signs a new deal with Monaco that keeps him at the Stade Louis II until 2018.

Monaco have announced that Anthony Martial has signed a contract extension at the Stade Louis II.

The 18-year-old, who has been compared to the club's forward Thierry Henry, has signed a new deal that keeps him with the principality outfit until June 2018.

Martial, who was signed by manager Claudio Ranieri on a free from Lyon during the summer, has scored two goals in his seven appearances for the club this season.

The Frenchman has found chances for Monaco hard to come by as he sits behind Radamel Falcao and Emmanuel Riviere in the pecking order.

However, Martial could see more first-team action until the end of the campaign due to the Colombian suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which is likely to keep him out until the summer.
