Report: Pablo Osvaldo, Javier Hernandez on Monaco radar

Monaco are considering offers for one of either Southampton striker Pablo Osvaldo or Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez after losing Radamel Falcao to injury.

Monaco are believed to have identified Pablo Osvaldo and Javier Hernandez as possible candidates to fill the striker void left by Radamel Falcao.

Their £50m Colombian signing is expected to miss the rest of the season, and possibly the World Cup, with cruciate knee ligament damage suffered last week.

Claudio Ranieri, manager of the big-spending French outfit, is keen to sign a new forward to keep their title challenge on track and believes that Southampton's Osvaldo and Manchester United's Hernandez are suitable replacements that could be available in this transfer window, according to the Daily Express.

Hernandez is reportedly frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford, while Osvaldo may be offloaded, six months after becoming the Saints' club-record £15m purchase, due to disciplinary problems that have seen him suspended by the St Mary's club for a period of two weeks.

Monaco have already signed a striker this January, bringing in Lacina Traore from Anzhi Makhachkala, but he has been loaned to Everton for the remainder of the campaign despite Falcao's injury.
