Ricardo Carvalho extends Monaco deal

Ligue 1 side Monaco confirm that Ricardo Carvalho has extended his contract until next summer.

Monaco centre-back Ricardo Carvalho has agreed terms on a one-year extension with the Ligue 1 side, the club confirmed on Thursday morning.

The player had been linked with a move away with a new deal having not been agreed, but Monaco have now confirmed that Carvalho will remain in Monaco until at least next summer.

"AS Monaco is pleased to announce the extension for an additional year of the contract of Carvalho," the club said on their official Twitter feed.

Carvalho joined Monaco from Real Madrid last summer.
